Privacy
We count how this site is used, so we can make it better — which recordings people come back to, where listeners drift off, which pages nobody finds. That's the only reason, and nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising.
What we count
- Which pages are opened, and the website you arrived from
- What is played, and whether it was started from a button or carried on by itself
- Roughly how long each recording is listened to, and at what speed
- When a recording is paused or stopped
- When a recording plays through to the end
- When the sleep timer is set, and for how long
- Which links out of the site are followed, such as to Patreon or a podcast app
- What is typed into the search box
- When a recording fails to load
- The country a visit comes from, and whether it's a phone, tablet or computer
What we don't
- No cookies, no advertising, and nothing from anyone else's company on these pages to count you.
- We never see or keep your IP address.
- We don't try to work out who anyone is. A random string saved in your browser lets us count a returning visit once rather than twice, and it's replaced with a new one every 13 months.
- Listening in Spotify, Apple Podcasts or another podcast app isn't counted here.
Where it goes
Into our own website logs, kept for 13 months and read only by us. Members' listening on Patreon is Patreon's, and covered by their privacy policy.

If you're in the EU or EEA, counting starts off and nothing is sent unless you switch it on. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat that as off too.
